With the exciting discovery of not one, but two new Pokemon Types in Crater Region this past Starfall, Eden Labs is excited to reveal what we've learned about the appearance of Nova Pokemon and what you can expect to see when encountering them! Eden Labs was able to capture this particular subject, a Rattata we have come to name "Opal".
Opal shows a variety of features typically found on Nova Pokemon.
Nova-Types can present:
Most commonly are mostly white with gold highlights.
A range of pastel shades of blue, green, purple, and pink
They can show crystal-like growths that channel their Nova energy, which can be charged by either sunlight or moonlight!
Their eyes are most typically gold, but once caught can change to any other color, just like Void Pokemon's eyes can change after they're caught.
They often have extra silky, long fur, and extra long tufts, scales, or feathers that are tipped with gold. Their pupils are most striking for their unique butterfly shape. This, too, can change once they are captured, but if a Nova retains the butterfly-pupil, it will always be gold, no matter what the rest of the eye color is.*
