Trainers and Magic

Magic, spells, inherently magical abilities, and so forth are allowed with restrictions. Keep in mind that similar to naturally enhanced abilities that come with other species, magic and magical abilities can not be used in a way that renders Pokemon ineffective or pointless.

Crater has its own unique magic system that will be revealed gradually over time with events and storyline arcs. At this time, this magic system is UNAVAILABLE. When it is available, trainers will be able to learn this magic(even regular human trainers), but it will rely on Pokemon and other Crater Lore. For this reason, magic that requires:

- wands

- staffs

- books

- enchanted items

- or anything out of the world of Harry Potter and similar universes, do not exist in Crater.

What Kinds Of Magic Can You Use?

Magic that is a part of your trainers' species and is necessary for their basic survival, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

- breathing underwater

- flying

- natural cloaking and stealth abilities

- communicating with Pokemon and the world around them

- and similar things

Healing Magic

You can use healing magic in these cases:

- public rps, on your own trainer and on your own Pokemon

- public rps, on others, with their permission first (ask in out of character chat please)

- private rps

However, these abilities are not "playable", meaning you can't use healing magic in place of potions or water bottles. Your trainer must heal their Pokemon during gameplay while using the same methods any other trainer uses.

In Storyline and Event rps, magical powers are totally restricted with the following exceptions:

- Your trainer is not near the scene of action and you'd like to move them there quickly

- Your trainer is a flier who relies on magic to temporarily gain wings, levitate, or similar

- Other trainers have rp'd injuries upon their selves, and your trainer may offer to heal the trainers, not the Pokemon.

Elemental powers are strictly a no-no. You have Pokemon for a reason. Use your Pokemon.

Magic can not be visible in Official Crater Art Submissions for any category of prompt. You may rp magic abilities like the ones discussed above while partking in the story, but when it comes to actually illustrating a prompt, the magic must not be visible.
